Documentation Requirements for Hygienic Stainless Steel and Nickel Alloy Vessels ASME Code Section VIII, Divisions 1 and 2
This Practice provides data forms and the associated instructions for specifying requirements for Stainless Steel and Nickel Alloy pressure vessels for hygienic service constructed in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1 or Division 2, henceforth referred to as the Code. Requirements that are specific to Code, Section VIII, Division 2 are shown in braces . This Practice is used with PIP VECV1001, PIP VEDV1003 (when required), and PIP VESV1002 to specify information necessary for the manufacturer to design and fabricate a pressure vessel. Polymer and Glass lined vessels are not covered in this scope.

This Practice describes the requirements for design, fabrication, inspection, testing, and shipment of air insulated medium voltage metal-enclosed load interrupter switchgear for installation in non-classified areas. This Practice covers assemblies for medium voltage load interrupter switch application for nominal 2.4 kV to 38 kV, 60 Hertz systems. Power circuit breakers are excluded from this Practice.

This Practice provides guidance for the development of programs for the maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation of existing protective coating systems. This practice does not address field touch-up and repair for new construction.

This Practice describes the arrangement of the Piping Material Specification Designators for PIP Hygienic Process Piping and the requirements for each field within a designation. For the purposes of this Practice, “Hygienic,” “Process,” or “Hygienic Process” refers to all Hygienic Process for Food/Beverage/Consumer & Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) or other products requiring a clean design.

This Practice provides the requirements for equipment, materials, and design services for electrical heat trace systems that use parallel-trace self-regulating type heat trace cable with ground braid. This Practice includes requirements for heat trace cable, monitor-control panel, junction boxes, and temperature sensors. The following are not included in this Practice a. General Purpose Skid-Mounted Packaged Equipment Specification
This Practice provides minimum requirements for mechanical design and manufacturing of skid-mounted packaged equipment. Skid-mounted units are self-contained, consisting of equipment, their auxiliary systems, interconnecting piping, electrical and instrument components, controls, and support structures, which are normally fabricated and skid-mounted in one or more sections. Skid-mounted packaged equipment may include a broad range of designs for process and utility applications, such as refrigeration units, vacuum pumps, chemical injection systems, and filter packages. This Practice is intended to address basic requirements that are common to most skid-mounted packages. Comment Purchaser shall ensure that specifications are invoked and provided for specific applications, which are equal to or exceed the scope of this Practice. Purchaser may also provide data sheets, P&IDs, process data, and any other supplemental specifications to define requirements for specific packaged equipment.

Specification for Small Pressure Vessels and Heat Exchangers with Limited Design Conditions (Universally Applicable)
This Practice provides general requirements for the design, materials, fabrication, examination, inspection, testing, certification, and pressure relief of three classes of small pressure vessels and heat exchangers as defined by size and Maximum Allowable Working Pressure (MAWP) in Table 1a or 1b of this Practice. This Practice is applicable to a. The standard, pre-designed pressure vessels and heat exchangers supplied as part of pre-engineered package units (e.g., refrigeration and air-compressor systems) b. “Off-the-shelf” vessels and exchangers c. Vessels (e.g., filters) or exchangers built from the manufacturer’s standard parts For purposes of this Practice, the term “vessel” includes heat exchangers. This Practice is not intended for the following a. Vessel in “Lethal Service” as defined in Section VIII, Division 1 of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (Code) b. Vessels for which design wall thickness is governed by loadings from wind pressure or earthquake forces
